Key Information
Along with the safeguarding work done by our partner schools and agencies, all of our safeguarding policies and procedures are based on:
- ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education: Statutory Guidance for Schools and Colleges.’ DFE, September 2019 and revised using ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education: Statutory Guidance for Schools and Colleges.’ 2020
- ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children: A Guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.’ DFE, July 2018.
Both may be found at www.gov.uk/government/publications
Bristol Achieve follows a child-centred and coordinated approach to safeguarding, working closely and with sensitivity to our partner schools and their safeguarding policies and procedures.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility; everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play.
All of our mentors are expected to read our safeguarding policy and will receive training to understand their role and our procedures. This includes training on our disclosure procedures, online safety and the wellbeing of both mentors and mentees.
